The NY Times's Olympic blog has an interesting post about the difficulty of translating the Chinese cheers heard at Beijing venues into other languages. As the post explains, a literal translation of a popular cheer to English means something about gasoline.

One of the most perplexing language issues at the Olympic games is how to translate the all-purpose Chinese cheer, “加油! ” (jiayou!), into English (or any other language).

加 means to “add.” 油 means “oil” or “fuel.” (And technically gas stations are often called 加油站, or jiayou stops). But it’s almost never chanted in the context of a gas station. Instead, you’ll hear it often chanted at these Olympic games when the audience wants the competitors to dig deep and put in an extra effort. Here is a YouTube video explaining how to chant 加油 to go with the official Olympic civilized chant hand gestures).

But around the Web you can find a variety of struggles as the Chinese try to translate this all-purpose cheer into English. (On some chat boards it even makes it into the category of most frequently asked translations.)
Finally, the good translation "Zhongguo Jiayou" is "Go China!".

Three possible reasons:

1. Bad DS Lite

2. Bad microSD card

3. Bad R4 Cartridge

To eliminate number one. Try the working R4 cartridge in both DS Lites. If it works fine in both, then the problem is not the DS Lite. If the working R4 only works in one DS Lite, then it could be a bad DS Lite.

If you find you have two good working DS LItes, time to check the MicroSD card. Using the same DS Lite and the working R4 cartridge, try both microSD cards in the working R4 cartridge. If both microSD cards work, then the problem lies with the other R4 cartridge and you should get it replaced. If only one of the microSD cards work, then the problem lies with the microSD card. You can try reformatting it. If that does not solve the problem, please replace the microSD card with a new one. Brands do make a difference and the Kingston brand is reputed to be the best and most reliable.

DSTT slot 1 card is very temperamental and causes frequent freezing of the Nintendo DS.

To use the card initially, format the micro SD card. FAT 16 is a more stable formatting option than FAT 32. (Formatting to FAT 16: Double click on the “my computer” icon. Right click on the micro SD card drive and select “format”. Under file system, select “FAT”. )

When the card is formatted, copy the system files on to the card. These consist of

1). A folder called TTMenu

2). A system file called TTMENU

3). A Video CD Movie called TTMENU

These 3 items should be copied on to the root menu of the card.

Now copy on to the card any games you wish to play. The games are usually stored in a folder giving the name of the game. This folder contains a file called xxxxxx.nds depending on the game. Copy the whole game folder on to the root menu and not individual files.

Place the micro SD card into the DSTT card and insert into slot 1. When you switch the NDS on, you should have a list of games. DO NOT START PLAYING ANY GAMES YET!!!

Select “SysOption” at the top left hand corner of the screen. Make sure Default reset is set to “On”. Exit “SysOption” by pressing “back”.

You can now play your games now.

Accessing a game console without any accessories is impossible. The need of console accessories may differ on the basis of games. Choosing a console accessory has to be considered as important as choosing a game console. Leading manufacturers mostly offer console accessories while they sell game consoles. But in some cases users have to get accessories from other shops. Here are some of the types of console accessories.

• Games
First of all, choosing appropriate games for a console is important. Get clear knowledge about different categories of games before you select one. Some of the popular categories of games are listed as: • Action games• Activity games• Adventure games• Fighting games• Music games• Online games

• Memory cards
It is impossible to get additional memory storage in your game console without using memory cards. Memory cards offer flash memory, which can be detached from the console whenever you need them. Users can save multiple games and you can play them whenever you want. Be sure that you are using official memory cards. It is not recommended to use unbranded memory cards, which may spoil gaming features sometimes.

UMD Videos
It is a unique type of console accessory, which is dedicatedly designed by well known manufacturer Sony especially for Sony PSP game consoles. UMD is an acronym of 'Universal Media Disc'. This disc is designed with 60 mm diameter. It has the capability to store data up to 1.8 GB. It allows you to save even:
• Software
• Full-motion video
• Music
• Movies

• Headphones
The following are some of the considerations for choosing game console headphones:1. It is good to buy a light weight headphone.2. Check whether it delivers rich sound effects.3. Get a headphone with waterproof option.4. It should be designed in such a manner that you could use it behind the head for getting additional comfort.5. The usage of high quality stereo technology enabled headphones will be useful for hearing high quality audio output.6. You may need two way headphones for playing certain games, which nowadays, comes with two additional features like woofers and tweeters.

• Controllers
Controllers are known as ‘joysticks’. These controllers are designed to use in your palms. You may require these controllers for navigating throughout the game. This accessory can be used for accomplishing other tasks like selecting a game, selecting the game level and to choose a player that one wants to play as.

• Remote Controls
The need of game console remote control arises for accessing CD or DVD playback. You can use the remote control to adjust audio settings of the sound system. It is always recommended to use official game consoles instead of other branded remote controls. There is no guarantee for the reliability of other branded remote handsets.

• Vertical Stands
These stands will be useful to place your console in an upright position.

• Cams
Certain games require cameras to get new level interaction apart from gaming.

In most countries in the world you have to pay taxes on imported goods. That's life.

Sometimes goods under a certain value, or in certain categories, do not incur taxes.

The rules are different in every country.

In any one country the rules are often applied differently in different places, and sometimes rather randomly. Therefore anything you buy from export country is going to be imported as far as your customs are concerned.

Unfortunately there is no way for the export country to know the rules, regulations, customs, traditions, practices, loopholes, schemes, systems, paperwork, codes, laws, or rulings of any country.

As the export country cannot, and will not, offer advice about taxes in your country usually.

As the buyer, it is your responsibility to find out that information before you order from outside country.

If you have to pay import taxes and/or additional duties and sales taxes (e.g. VAT in the UK) then you would have to pay that to the courier upon receipt of the package(s) from the export country. Unfortunately the export company can't calculate this for you and there is no way to pre pay it. If you are drop-shipping or sending a gift item to someone please make sure they are aware of the possibility of having to pay taxes when receiving the goods.

If you order goods from the export country and feel that you've been unexpectedly 'stung' with taxes at your end, please don't blame the export company.
Please find out as much as you can about your import taxes in your own country before completing your order.

If you find out information about the import tax situation in your country, and you believe there are ways for you to minimize the taxes you have to pay (or eliminate the taxes altogether), usually, the export company ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO FOLLOW YOUR INSTRUCTIONS regarding labelling, packing, declarations, invoices, etc. Just tell them what you need and they will let you know what they can do to help.

If you don't tell export company anything, they will just state on the shipping waybill the "Nominal Retail Value" and the goods will be declared as Samples. In many countries this still means you're going to have to pay tax to the courier when you sign for the goods.
